Car Alarms: 2007 Toyota Sequoia car alarm, 2007 toyota sequoia, toyota sequoia

Question
My car's alarm keeps going off & I can't get it to stop, when I lock the vehicle either with the remote or on the door lock. This has never happened before today, even though for several weeks I have noticed a symbol on the dash of a flashing red key (that my manual says has something to do with the chip on the key & re-setting something?)
It is almost midnight, and I have to go to bed without my car being locked tonight--which I'm not happy since I live in the NYC area!
A. how can i lock my car w/out the alarm going off ?
B. is it related to the flashing symbol?

Answer
Try resetting the drivers lock
(key in the drivers door, key turned all the way
left then right to unlock/disarm=Factory noise
gen/headlight flashing alarm.

If it's after market, (siren)
PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

If it's the transponder in the key thow,
Toyota would need to reset it.

Hopefully, it's the after market.
