Auto body repair & detailing: 67 Mustang with a vinyl top that has rust under it, rusted areas, trim shop

I just purchased a 67 Mustang and it has rust under the vinyl top. I want to fixed it the best way possible and paint it. What would you suggest? Thanks for your help!

The best way to fix that is to rip the vinyl off, repair the rusted areas, repaint and have a trim shop install a new top. You should be able to have that done for less than $400.00. Or you could do away with the vinyl, fill the moulding holes and repaint.
