Auto body repair & detailing: Mustang Roof Replacement, mustang coupe, vinyl roof

Question
In follow up to my previous question, I now have found a complete roof to replace the rusted out one on my 1967 Mustang coupe; when I peeled off the vinyl roof, there were huge unrepairable holes in the roof panel. The replacement roof will go from lead seam to lead seam so there will be a total replacement. While I have a welder to install the new roof, there doesn't seem to be any body who can or does lead seams anymore. Is there another way to complete those seams without lead?

Answer
No, there is not. Eithe make a new seam about an inch above or below the existing lead seam. The seam is too deep to be filled with body filler, and the quarter/roof seam is leaded so that the area can flex without cracking. Fill it with bondo, and I promise you, it will crack within a year. Bill
