Auto body repair & detailing: clear coat problems..., fish eyes, dimples

Question
Hi, we recently just painted our car, base and clear, but the clear is all bumpy with dimples i guess, theres 3 or 4 coats on it, and it's all over the car. Maybe we were doing it on a low pressure, resulting in a mess? i don't know...There's not one single spot that's not covered in the annoying buggers. I started wet sanding the clear with 2000 to get rid of the dimple things, then waxing (buffing) but it's taking an awful long time. Is there a faster way of doing the whole car, or do i have to remove the clear then base and clear again on a higher pressure? Can you please give me some suggestions (more than one preferably). We repainted the car i don't know how many times, and I'm sick of it, i want it done, but every time we fix it, there's another problem.

Thanks a lot for your help and time.

Answer
Well Josephine, when you say dimples do you mean "fish eyes" in any case it sounds like theres some kind of contamination . either the vehicle got contaminated between the basecoat and clear, or the equipment was not properly clean. if there all over the vehicle your probably better off  sanding it and applying the clear again.as far the pressure it will vary from one gun to another slightly, my self i use a CATech. gun for the clear and use about 29psi at the inlet and get 10-11 at the nozzle and it works very well for me  try that pressure set up .and any dirt or dimples you could try some 1500 or even 1000 with good compound and clean pads you should be allright.,,,,i hope this can help you.
