Auto body repair & detailing: Scratches and Dented door, paintless dent repair, chips and scratches

Question
Greetings. I have a 2005 stone white dodge stratus. The other morning, trying to leave the gas station, while another car was wrongfully pared along side the gas station store, I hit the little sectionals that are at the station near the pumps. because they are white and so is my car, there is no access paint. but unfortunately, the lower part of the driver and passenger door is dented slightly but noticeable. where the doors meet, the paint is a little chipped. How do i go about repairing it? Also, how do I keep a stone white car, stone white? I notice small minute scratches that comes from I don't know what and small chips in the paint on the front bumper. Thanks...

Answer
Ask your Dodge dealer if the dent is a candidate for a paintless dent repair. Purchase a tube of touch up paint in Dodge parts department for touching up small stone chips and scratches that go through to the primer coat. The minute scratches are probably from using the brush at the car wash. From now on, just soap the car with whatever comes out of the wand, and use your own car wash mitt to hand wash the car. Either that, or wash the car at home. The brush at car washes will leave tiny Marks on paint, especially if it's contaminated with dirt form the guy who washed his car before you. Bill
