Auto body repair & detailing: 1970 Chevelle qurater panels, year one parts, sweat equity

Question
I am trying to find GOOD replacement quarter panels for my Chevelle. I have heard both good and bad about Goodmark. I have had the same kind of luck with some year one parts. I would like to locate panels that are GM quality or authorized but have had no luck. Any advice where to look?

Answer
Year One has the best stuff out there, in my opinion, and they have a rating system for their replacement steel. And unless you find NOS quarters, you can't do any better. NOS quarters, should you be lucky enough to find them, will run at least 2,000.00 each. This makes the aftermarket replacements a bargain, even if you need to put some sweat equity in them. I don't think you will find any better, my friend. What you wan't just isn't out there. I doubt you will even be able to find a decent pair of used quarters for this car, so I suggest just doing what we both know needs done. I know, it ain't any fun, and factory quarters totally rock- but this car is 37 years old, and I'm sure that GM stopped making quarters around 1977 for your car. Bill
