Auto body repair & detailing: removal of two sided tape, razor blade, body filler

Question
yes wondering how you recommend removing moulding two side tape i heat it and remove and then use 3m adhesive cleaner it works but takes a lot time! got any shortcuts !

Answer
Welcome to my world. Removing 2 side tape sucks. You might be able to remove it from the molding with a razor blade, just don't cut too deep. Then saturate with remover. If its on the body, it takes a VERY steady hand to go at it with the razor. I don't think its for a novice. Try using a stiff body filler spreader to scrap the old adhesive. he trick is to remove as much of the tape as possible, leaving only the glue. Then, it still sucks with some tapes. It turns into snot, and won't hardly come off. You can try purchasing an eraser tool and erasers, but most are air powered, require a hefty air compressor, and still take forever. Premier/Kent has a remover called Speedy 500, but it's not available commercially. You might try to see if it's available online. I have a sales rep, so I don't know. You have my sympathy. Bill
