Auto body repair & detailing: Bent Frame, dodge neon, luck mark

Question
Our 97 Dodge Neon was recently in car accident.  Our insurance co. total loss our 97 dodge neon.  We purchase the vechicle back from the insurance co.  so that we could repair the damage ourselves.  We noticed that the frame is bent and there is front bumper and hood damage.  Also the radiator is damage.  I was told that it is not really worth putting a lot of money into this vehicle if the frame is bent which it is.  Can the frame be repaired if so how much do you think it would cost to repair it.  Please help.

Answer
You must have the damage evaluated by a body shop and get an estimate for the frame repairs only. The integrity and safety of the car have probably been compromised and the vehicle should only be driven if structural damages have been properly repaired. The 97 Neon has probably lost a very great percentage of its value and may not be worth repairing. Research the prices of similar, undamaged cars and make up your mind from there. It is probably not worth investing $2500 into a car that may only be worth $2000 when you are finished. Invest the money in a different car- Good Luck, Mark
