Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): LT155, proper manuals, hydro control

Question
I've noticed my LT155 John Deere is weaker than it originally was, even after replacing the belt.  I've always been frustrated with its pulling power (steep hills, aerator, etc.)  It also is much slower mowing than I would like.  Can you give any suggestions?  Does the hydrostatic drive go bad?  Is there any way to speed it up and make it also pull stronger?  I would expect more with 15hp.

Thanks,

tim

Answer
Hello Tim:

Is there Any Signs of the Hydro Leaking? If yes, then it May be Low on Fluid. On the Transaxle is an OEM Identification Plate. Is the Linkage Still Moving the Hydro Control Valve Properly? Worn or Loose Linkage will Cause this Problem. Check the Transaxle Mounting Bolts and Ensure they are Still Tight. Send me the Information Off of This Plate, Please. With this Information, I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist You. From the Breakdown at the JD Site, I see a Fill Cap. If the Hydro is Low on Fluid, this Problem will Occur. The Replacement Fluid will Depend on the OEM and Model of the Transaxle. Yes the Hydro can go Bad. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
