Auto body repair & detailing: 2006 Honda Civic Bumper Removal, honda civic bumper, flat screwdriver

Question
My wife took a good size chunk out of her 2006 Civic LX 4dr front bumper (left lower side in front of wheel well).  I've got estimates for getting it replaced which will be around $600.  I'm finding some places in eBay and on line in which I might be able to pick up a bumper itself for about $80 less that what the body shops have quoted me for one (a few even offer matching painted bumpers by color code).
So what I was wondering, how hard would it be to remove/replace the existing bumper myself?  And if this is possible, do you know/have any instructions on how to do so?  (No shop manuals for this car yet, dang it)

Answer
My recommendation is to stay awat from E-Bay parts. Most of them are not O.E. and you never know what you are getting. The labor to install the part is only about $55 and you could save money by using a reconditioned bumper. This is a repaired part from an outside source and is usually about $100 cheaper than a new one.Removing the bumper is pretty simple with the exception of a few hidden metric allen bolts under the grille cover. There are clips that hold the upper fender covers to the grille cover that are stubborn and usually break. There are also screws located at the back corners that hold the bumper to the fenders.Underneath you will find push clips that can be removed by prying the center out with a flat screwdriver.Pull away at the back corners near the fenders ant slide the cover off, sometimes the retainers under the lights do not want to let go so you have to pull a little harder
