Auto body repair & detailing: Front bumper damage in accident, white paint, rubbing compound

Question
a family member of mine had a rear end collision w/ a cargo van. The white paint from our front left bumper smeared a space of about 5" x 3" on their rear bumper and left a black scratch on our front bumper w/ a space of about 3" x 4". Would you have any idea the price range of what it's going to cost us to repair both or either of these two areas? The cargo van's bumper is silver metal. I only ask over the net because I'm a busy working single mom of two and can't take the time out to go to a repair shop for an estimate right now. Please help!

Answer
Without knowing all the specifics of each vehicle such as makes and models I can only guess at refinish labor.Have some one try to rub out the areas with rubbing compound first. If this does not work then the bumpers will need to be repainted at a cost of about $200 to $500 each
