Auto body repair & detailing: redue base coat, grit sandpaper, paint supplier

I was in the process of painting my truck with a omni base/clear coat made by ppg and after the 2nd coat of base I noticed it was not covering up the sealer, like there was not pigment in the black paint, the paint supplier confirmed that I was giving a bad batch of base coat. They replace it.Its been a week that the base been on the truck,now what do I have to do to finish painting my truck? re sand the entire truck to scuff up the current base coat? if so what grit sandpaper, and does it need re sealed again? any help would be greatly appreciated

I am not a big fan of Omni and primarily use dbu or dbc basecoats. Since the basecoat sat more that 24 hours you will need to eith scuff the paint up or you can sand with 320 and clean and repaint. Do not use a wax and grease remove directly on the basecoat. Put eh frist two coats on very dry where you had the problem before just to make sure that it is going to cover. If you still have problems, switch to a DBU or a DBC. I have very good luck with DBU 9700 which is plain Black. It lays down very nice with a drr 1170 reducer.
