Auto body repair & detailing: Door replacement, pontiac firebird, torx screws

Question
I have a 1991 pontiac firebird I was in an accident and my driver's side door was damaged I have goten a replacement door and would like advice on how to remove the old door and install the new door. I am a student and can't afford to take it to a shop. Any and all information would be very nice.

Answer
Remove interior panel. Not all the torx screws actually do anything, they are just there for show. The arm rest needs completely removed, there should be 2 or 3 screws underneath, as well as the one on the door pull. Once off, un-plug and fish the wire harness thru the hole in the front of the door jamb. Support the door with a floor jack, and remove the bottom bolts from the door hinge, then the top last.. Have a helper help to load and steady the new door on to the floor jack, and installation is the reverse of removal. Not too difficult with a little help. Bill
