Auto body repair & detailing: Rust bubbles, rust bubbles, literature section

Question
I am restoring a 1954 Hudson. On the front of the hood where it meets the grill and on the lower portion of the driver side door, there are rust bubbles. I have chipped several of the bubbles away and it does not go all the way through. For the challenge of it, I want to do as much of the repair as I can. How do I proceed to eliminate and repair these bubbled areas? Thanks for whatever help you can provide

Answer
I can promise you that these bubles go all the way through. Take an awl, and I bet you can bump it through by striking it with the palm of your hand. Year one has a book in the literature section called how to restore your collector car. I highly recomend you purchase it, and don't go through this project blind. At minimum, you need a lead repair here but more likely you need to do some patch work. I can't teach you how to do restoration quality patchs on classic cars in an email. Bill
