Auto body repair & detailing: Pontiac GTO, Patch Sunroof Hole, air compressors, pontiac gto

Question
I just purchased a 1966 GTO, it has a Sun Roof someone installed. What would be the best and easiest fix for plugging the hole in the roof?

Answer
This is a job for a professional. I would suggest grafting a roof section from a donor car onto it. Welding a huge patch onto the roof is going to be incredibly difficult , the large, flat roof skin will warp like crazy. A used roof skin will be difficult to find, at best. You bit off a big chunk on this, Mike. You could try gluing a patch into he roof, but you are looking a a bondo spot of about 3 by 4 feet. Another job not for an amateur. Big filler spots require big sanders, air compressors, and talent. Save yourself a lot of heartache and take it to a pro, or learn to love the sunroof. Bill
