Auto body repair & detailing: Paint overspray, swirl marks, clay bar

Question
I have been given a new paint effect on my black vehicle courtesy of an overspray near where I had parked. This will be taken care of at their expense, however, I would like to know what is the best procedure in removing it. I spoke to the detailer who will be doing the work and he will be using a clay bar. He mentioned having a paint protector as a final in the process. Not sure about this although I am considering having swirls removed prior (if that is really possible)Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
The detailier is right on the money.  It needs to be gone over with a clay bar and then waxed/polished.  If you will mention that you are concerned about swirl marks when the detail/overspray removal will be done, they will probably polish it out and finish it so most of the swirls will be removed.  If you see a lot of buffer marks/swirls when It's done, let them know that it isn't acceptable.
