Auto body repair & detailing: Repairing Fiberglass, grit paper, car fenders

Question
Hi,

I have a car that is made out of fiberglass.
The car fenders and hood have many deep
scratches.   What would you recommend I do to remove these scratches and later to polish/buff the damaged area.  What type of grinders, polishers, buffers, etc., should I use?

Angel

Answer
Dear Angel:

You're going to need to fill the scratches with what's called "Fiberglass Filler" and resin.  Then when it dries sand it down nice and smooth with 600 grit paper and finish with 1000 grit paper.  Then spray flexible primer on the areas, paint, then clear.  After 30 days you can wax of buff the car.  If you need more help, or would like to talk to us call at 1-800-548-4321.

Thank You,
