Auto body repair & detailing: Rust spots, chevy lumina, 1993 chevy lumina

Question
Hi, I just bought a 1993 Chevy Lumina Z34. It's in great condition inside and out, however I have noticed a few rust spots on the rim of the fenders just above the tires and in a couple of other spots. I don't have access to a garage where I can work on the car and it's winter here in the northeast. I'm concerned that if I don't do something immediately with these rust spots that they'll spread and cause serious damage by the time spring comes and it's warm enough to work on it. Is there anything I can do now, myself, or do you recommend going to a body repair shop and letting them handle the rust spots? Thanks in advance for your time and expertise.

Answer
Gina,
Hello.  Considering you live in the northeast where we usually have a good bit of snow during the winter which results in a great deal of salting the roads, we would advise you to take your vehicle to a good body repair shop as soon as possible to avoid a much larger repair bill come spring.
Thank you,
Mike and Lisa
