Auto body repair & detailing: paint finish, reddish spots, rubbing compound

Question
The dang tree overhead of the miata has left tiny reddish spots, size of berries, but it is not berries, as it is an oak tree with many squirrels.  Anyway, I have tried washing with only warm water as I always do and it does not remove it.  There is a special paint finish and I would appreciate your suggestions as to how I can remove the stains without damaging the finish.

Thanks

Answer
  hi carol,
in most cases either enamel reducer or laquer thinner will remove this type of stains or possibly rubbing compound. all these things you can get at your local auto parts store. they will not hurt the clear coat finish, all you will have to do is rewax the surface. if you keep a lot of wax on the paint it will help keep stuff from sticking to it. thanks for writing.
