Auto Glass: highlander drivers window, Window regulator

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2010 highlander. When I power down the driver's window it goes down crooked so that when it bottoms out, the rear top corner is still sticking up and can be pushed down manually. When I power the window up, it makes a loud "snap" when it seats in the fully up position. I'm pretty handy, is this something I can fix?

ANSWER: Hi Tom,

Yes! , You can fix this!

Once the door panel is off you will see the Window regulator has (4)10 mm bolts
that hold the Main body of the Window regulator to the door. (2) 10 mm Bolts  hold what is called the third Arm Channel, and 2 that hold the actual glass to the Window regulator channel.

Your problem sounds like you lost a bolt out of the Window regulator channel or the third Arm Channel. Or the Regulator cracked, (Not likely the last option)

Once you find the missing bolt rolling around somewhere on the inside of your door, Get the glass back in place and hold it in place as you Tap up or down on the power button to line up the bolt holes with the regulator.

If it is the Glass bolt that was missing there are holes or cutouts in the door metal to let you bolt the glass back in the regulator.

If do not Tap the button it will go into Automatic power and that is Dangerous because if your hand gets in between the regulator arms you could lose a finger.

If you find that is is too hard to get it lined up you might have to call in a Pro to do the Bolts and toss him 25.00 then put the panel back on yourself?

The last thing you want to do is strip the threads on any of the bolts or holes. Get this one done soon either way you do it, you only get so many Loud Snaps before you hear the Loud POP when the window decides to break on you!

I did a 09 Highlander drivers side door glass and if it is still the same as 2010 this will fix it!          Get back to me if you need further help!
