Auto Glass: working on my car, cable run regulators Suck!

Question
i have a 2002 pontiac gand am how do i put the track back on the cable

Answer
   Hi Ethan,

You cant! Or should I say you should not try to repair this regulator.
This Cable run regulator is Famous for locking up and then breaking.

Once Broken it needs to be replaced.

Once the cable on this regulator is kinked or any plastic has broken off your chances of opening the gear housing or attaching it all back together to the Cable and getting it to work more than one time is almost 0%
If you think it is just a plastic clip that fell off it is not.
I hate to sound so negative but I think GM regulators are made to fail. Depending on the Model year and damage to the door, some GM cars and a few Trucks can go through 4-6 Regulators in there lifetime.
Spending a day playing with this thing is just not worth it!

The whole Regulator unit can be replaced New for as little as 100 by a local Glass shop.

They also have after market Motor/Regulator units on Ebay for as little as 35.00 if you want to install this yourself.

         Hope This Helps! Derek =D
