Auto Glass: 2002 Toyota Camry Power Window, silicone spray, toyota camry

Question
Hi, my driver side door power window slightly jumps out of the rear channel when going up. If I apply light pressure with my hand, it stays inside the track. I guess there may be a slight amount of play that allows me to do this. I have looked inside the front and rear channel and there are no tears or anything that looks out of place. I am the original owner and the window or door has never been tampered with and the car has never been involved in an accident. I was going to try silicone spray in both channels to see if this helped. If not, what other things may cause this problem that I should look for and repair? Please list from minor to major repair for this type of car if different from others.
Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Carlos,

The first thing you should do is apply silicone spray (don't use anything but silicone) to the the front and rear channels to see if this solves problem.

If lubrication doesn't correct the problem you will need to remove the door panel and inspect the regulator and door glass.  Look for loose mounting bolts that connect the glass to the regulator or possibly a broken plastic mounting bracket at the bottom of the glass.

If the glass mounting bolts are tight and the glass brackets are okay then examine the six 10MM bolts that mount the window regulator to the door.

Those are the typical things that I have seen that might account for the problem you are having.

Send me a follow up question if you need any additional information.
