Auto Glass: 2005 Highlander Rear Window, 2005 toyota highlander, toyota highlander

Question
Hi Ben, I've read one of your responses about what to do with a highlander that has a guide that has come out of the lift channel, which was clear to me, however, the problem I'm facing is that the lift channel has moved backwards on the bottom of the class (you can see on the glass where the lift channel was originally positioned).  Once i have taken everything apart, how exactly do I reposition the lift channel?  I've tried cleaning the glass and added lubricant to attempt to slide the lift arm forward, but had no success.

Oh, and it's a 2005 toyota highlander.  I've looked at the repair book whose picture of the window assembly is not the same as what is on my car--there is the piece that grips down on the glass (which is what has shifted backwards), and the lift channel that is welded--not bolted--to that piece.

Thanks so much for your help.

Answer
Hello Kyle,

If you have tried to move the channel back into position and can't get if to slide forward, you can pull the channel off the glass, widen the opening just a little and then glue it back into position on the rubber insulator on the bottom of the glass.

Feel free to send a follow up question if you need some additional clarification.
