Auto Glass: Toyota Noah, toyota noah, side switch

Question
Having an issue with the passenger window. It goes down with the switch but
not up. I got a replacement switch and it did the same thing. I connect power
straight from the battery to the motor and it works up and down fine. The
drivers side passenger window switch does not do anything at all.
I have just checked the drivers side switch and seen that something had been
spilt onto the switches (looks like yoghurt) for all three windows and has
damaged the circuit board. At closer examination it has only damaged the
mechanism for the passenger window and caused what looks like burning at
the copper has broken.
I replaced this whole section with a new part from another Noah. The drivers
window worked but not the passenger window.
What else can i do to get the window to work?
Thanks in advance. MIck

Answer
Hello Mick,

Toyota does not sell the Noah in the United States so I am not familiar with the common window problems this vehicle may have.  However, from what you have told me so far, I think you may have a broken wire in the rubber boot between the driver door and the body of the vehicle.

It is too difficult to explain how to trouble shoot this via email.  I suggest you find an experienced Toyota mechanic who makes eletrical repairs.

Thanks, Ben  ... the power window guy
