Auto Glass: 1995 toyota camry fromt right power window goes down but not up, toyota camry, main switch

Question
Dear Ben,
The power window on the front passenger side of my 1995 Toyota camry goes down but not up. When it started, you can lower it using the switch on the passenger side, but that switch could not make it go up. You had to use the main switch on the driver side to make it go up. Recently it stopped responding to the up signal from the main switch also. But it can still go down. My first thought was to change the main switch. It didn't help. I change the regulator on that side. still no good. What do you think may be the problem? Thanks in advance for your time.

Answer
Hello Ignatius,

You probably have a broken wire(s).  This is not an uncommon problem.  It usually breaks in the area between the driver door and the body of the car.  If you look between the door hinges you will see a rubber "boot."  The wires for all the windows pass through the boot.  More than likely, that is where the wire(s) is broken.
