Automotive Plastics: Mirror, side mirror broken

Question
Hi,my Nissan Maxima 2004 driver side mirror is broken, and I wouild like to try to repair it myself because I don't have the extra money to buy another at this time. Anyway,I backed up at the bank and the post forced the mirror off the screws, and stripped out the holes.  I tried using epoxy to re-attach screw to mirror, but its not working out so well maybe because of the type of plastic the mirror is made of. I thought maybe I could get some bigger screws and do without the epoxy, but not sure that would work. Do you have any suggestions...thankyou for your time in advance.

Answer
Hi Rocklin, normally you can not achive good( strong) repairs in mirrors by using any glue. The only solution I recommend is welding the broken parts. after doing as I suggest, your mirror will be able to stand the retractil function without breaking in the attempt. I need you to send me close-ups of the affected areas to give you directions a the list of materials. please mail to: manual@bumper2bumperplasticsrepair.com. mention the words "side mirror" in the subject box. I will answer as soon as I get the pics. Thanks
