Car Stereos: Volume problem, pioneer cd radio, aftermarket stereo

I have a Pioneer CD/radio aftermarket stereo in my truck. I hadn't had the truck long, but the volume keeps moving on its own. I will turn it up to 20... it slowly moves back down to zero. Its gotten worse and now everytime i turn it up (i hear it) it just goes right back down to zero. Is this something to do with the unit or possibly the wiring? I did just instal 2 new speakers? Hi Clay,

If the deck is visibly showing the volume going down again, then the potentiometer in your volume control is probably shot.

Unfortunately, this would mean total replacement (or desoldering the volume knob from the control board, and using the remote).
