brake light switch
QUESTION: im looking for a brake light switch for my 89 jimmy 4.3l.there isnt a part number on the part i took off my jimmy, and the part that computers bring up dont match my part..mine has the 2 flat prong male switch on top of the part, and thats the only connector on the part.the part that matches the part number has 2 connectors on it..HELP!! i am so lost..i have pictures of my part i could send if thats helpful

ANSWER: Hi Kathy,
Do you have any more details on the car? In Australia, where I live the Suzuki Jimny is only made 1996 onwards. My guess is that it is called something else over here for your 1989 model, probably Sierra. If you can send me the VIN number that would be helpful.

That said, that is an odd looking brake light switch. Was it located above the brake pedal?

Alternatively you could try contacting your local Suzuki Dealer to see what they have to say.

Answer
Hi Kathy,
I'm sorry I misread your question the first time and thought you had a Suzuki Jimny.

I've had a look through some auto parts catalogues and all the ones listed for your car aren't the same as the one pictured. It's possible that it's had an aftermarket switch installed, perhaps for a disabled kit or maybe cruise control. If this is the case the one listed may still fit into your car.

I suggest going to your local Chevy dealer and seeing if they can suggest a part, they will be able to give you an OEM part number, and you may be able to find an aftermarket part to match.

Todd.
