Auto Parts: stiffer shocks or springs?, aftermarket rims, wheel bearings

ok i have a 2001 eclipse gt and my rear tires rub bc i have aftermarket rims and adapters and dont want to sell them,they stick out of the fender walls by an inch and quarter. ive tried lower profile, still rubs. so stiffing the suspension is what i want to do . either shocks or springs? and what parts would you recommend me getting?

    You are wasting your time.  Lose the rims and spacers and fit a tire/wheel combo that doesn't need spacer and doesn't stick out past the fender well edge.  The setup you have is going to fry your wheel bearings before too long, or burst a tire from the rubbing.  A good tire dealer, like Tire Rack, can fix you up with stuff that fits.
