Auto Parts: tension pully 4 serpentine, old adage, grand voyager

Question
i have a 2000 grand voyager se,and had the serpentine belt and tensioner pully replaced friday the belt broke three miles after i left the shop.the engine is a 3.3 the pully they put on is not lineing up with the other pully,s and was making a loud squel.is it possible its the wrong pully?

Answer
It is definitely possible that they gave you the wrong pulley, or even the wrong belt.  Some pulleys have a rim on them that keeps the belt from moving, and others don't (because it isn't needed in that application).  If you don't have the old pulley to compare to the new one, you can go to a dealer and get the correct pulley.  If it appears to be different, go back to the guy and bitch him out.  This is a case when the old adage: "always get the old parts," is a good idea.
