Auto Parts: mounting bolts, datsun 720, metric bolts

I have a 1980 nissan datsun 720 pickup with an L20B engine
i need to fine out what type of bolts are used for the harmonic balancer to put in back on and for the waterpump mounting bolts any information that you may be able to give me would be extremly helpful

    If you don't have the old bolts, the only way to find out would be to go to the dealer and see if they can look it up.  You could probably solve the water pump bolt problem by trying a few common metric bolts from the hardware store until you find one with the right threads.  Then, you need to check the length of each bolt.  You don't want to use a bolt that will go into the mounting surface more than half an inch, or it might impinge on the cylinder casting of the number one cylinder.  Hardware store bolts are fine for the water pump, it doesn't have any special strength requirements.  Harmonic balancer bolts are usually special bolts designed and manufactured to be used on only one engine; the dealer probably still carries that bolt, they sold an awful lot of L20Bs
