Auto Parts: coolant temp sensor, coolant temp, saturn sl1

i have 97 saturn sl1 and the coolant light with the little radiator keeps blinking. i put fluid in the overflow which was empty,thanks to my teenage daughter, but the light continually blinks. i can't locate the sensor.could you tell me where it is and is this the problem?

If your coolant reservoir is filled to the proper level and your low coolant light is still on, most likely the level sensor is either gummed up or bad.  Most of the time, from my experience it's just the sensor being gummed up.  Have to remove it and clean it off, then re-install and see what happens.
