Looking for a reputable service technician? My advice on finding a good technician is: Steer clear of the dealership and 'chain' stores like Firestone, Sears, Pep Boys, Monro Muffler/Brake, Midas, etc. as they usually only employ ONE ASE Certified Tech just so they can say they do and chances are, that guy is the asst. manager or manager and is not in the store to diagnose/repair vehicles anyway. Find a service location in the link below or get some names out of the yellow-pages and do a drive-by. Garages that employ ASE Certified Technicians will be marked with the 'Blue-Seal' insignia. If unsure about whether a place employs Certified Techs, just ask to see their credentials. ALL ASE Certified Technicians will be PROUD to show and display their certificate(s).

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.

QUESTION: Could you give me what numbers would work in my 2007 Impala? It appears the plugs are the same so I am surprised the Tahoe won't work. But I believe you , just curious why it won't.

ANSWER: Hi Tim,

Actually, no. My program works in the opposite direction. I can tell you what will fit by application but I can't give you an application for a unit, number specific or not.

Also, the unit MAY work in your car. My program does not specifically state why they are not compatible. I can only assume it is because of the theft-lock which may have an issue if you try to input a truck VIN into the radio once it is installed in your car. Notes on radios and computer controlled devices are not completely precise. There are so many variables that the interchange company may have stopped because the exchange-application was so vast. We have run into it in the past a few times.

I, however, do not want to tell you to plug that unit in and test it. If you do it, that is completely up to you but I will warn you that even though the plug-connector configuration appears the same, the pin positions of the power and ground leads MAY be different which would destroy the radio and possibly the dash-harness.

QUESTION: How about a part # 25776334 ? It is out of a 2007 Buick Lucerne? Does this one cross to my 2007 Impala ?

Answer
Hi Tim,

Buick Family radios ONLY work in other Buick cars. I'm not sure why but Buick codes their units differently to make them nearly impossible to use in other lines of vehicles by burning a three-digit lead-code into the module that corresponds with a VIN code store in the PCM of the vehicle and if either unit detects a difference, the unit will shut-down. I guess that's anti-theft.

That '07 Lucerne radio will ONLY function in another Lucerne manufactured in 2007.
