Auto Parts: 08 Toyota sienna le, mechanic shops, pep boys

Question
I just purchased a 2008 Toyota Sienna LE. I would like to know if you have info on how to change the remote to unlock all the doors with one button press instead of 2. I read the manual and it said that it is possible, but I should"contact my local Toyota dealer for assistance". I don't want to give them any more money right now unless I have no other recourse. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Please and Thank you.

Answer
Hi Buddahh,

I'd doubt they'd charge you to tell you a sequential code. It is going to be something dumb like hold yer foot on the brake, wait ten seconds then hit the door lock button at the same time you press the key-fob button. That's not it, but it will be similar and the dealership shouldn't charge for something like that.

Sequential codes are not released to private dealers or mechanic shops. We have to figure them out the same way everyone else does, trial-and-error.

Looking for a reputable service technician? My advice on finding a good technician is: Steer clear of the dealership and 'chain' stores like Firestone, Sears, Pep Boys, Monro Muffler/Brake, Midas, etc. as they usually only employ ONE ASE Certified Tech just so they can say they do and chances are, that guy is the asst. manager or manager and is not in the store to diagnose/repair vehicles anyway. Find a service location in the link below or get some names out of the yellow-pages and do a drive-by. Garages that employ ASE Certified Technicians will be marked with the 'Blue-Seal' insignia. If unsure about whether a place employs Certified Techs, just ask to see their credentials. ALL ASE Certified Technicians will be PROUD to show and display their certificate(s).

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
