Auto Parts: Motor mount bolts for a 1974 Pontiac Ventura, bolt and nut, engine vibration

Question
I am in the process of fixing up a 74 Ventura, I was just wondering are there specific motor mount bolts for that specific car or how do I determine what type and size of bolt to use? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Mitch,

Motor mount bolts are not specific to a vehicle or application but the are specific to their task. Motor mount bolt and nut assemblies are designed to fit snug so they do not loosen from the engine vibration. So you can probably use any motor mount nut and bolt set as long as they are specifically designed to be used as motor mounts. Also, GM mount bolts typically only have two inches of thread on the lock-end to increase the strength of the set.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
