Auto Parts: 96 olds 98, hi mike, starter motor

i put a new starter on it in it cracked it so i went in got another one but that one crack to/ wat would make that happen

Hi Mike,

Either you have the wrong starter or you are not replacing the shims when installing it. Other than that, I'm not sure what would crack a starter motor.
