Auto Parts: Tap, autoparts store, pipe threads

Question
Does any one make a tap to repair threads on a 3/8" air hose?
I have some threads messed up on a air tank that I need to clean up.

Hi Harold,

I hope so. I'd hate to think if I screw-up a pipe thread that I'd have to replace the entire item.

Try Sears or Fastenal or maybe a local autoparts store that carries tools. I'm pretty sure I've repaired pipe threads before and if I remember, the tap isn't exactly like standard thread taps because pipe threading tapers.
