Auto Parts: Air flow, ford escort, air flow

Question
I have a ford escort si 1.8 and the revs keep dropping to fast causing the engine to stall while driving. Also the revs bounce up and down as if the engine is trying to stop it from cutting out . Im lead to believe its somethin to do with the air flow . Is this true and if so can i repair it myself.

Answer
Hi Russell,

I'd say you've been steered wrong. I would think there is a better change the IAC valve is blocked or malfunctioning. An AFM malfunction typically won't cause the issue you are experiencing.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
