QUESTION: will 305 distributor work in a 351

ANSWER: Hi Alton,

If you mean a 350, then yes. All small block Chevrolet-built engines of the same generation used the same distributor styles.

You have a knack for with-holding information.

If I knew exactly what year you were working with, My answer would be more accurate. However, according to notes dealing with two 1985 blocks, the answer is no, they are not interchangeable. Maybe this is why my loyalty is to Chevy (GM).
