Auto Parts: idle speed control valve, toyota prado, iscv

Question
I have a toyota Prado land Cruiser,2002 model with a 3RZ-FE-2693cc engine. The idle speed bumps up to 1500 on starting and then dies off sometimes stalling. Is this the ISCV acting up? How can i check it for good operation?

Hi Khamchan,

Sounds like an IAC valve malfunction to me too. I would get some good sensor-friendly carbon-removal spray and clean the air-intake area of the IAC as well as the IAC pindle and seat. You may have to remove the IAC valve to do a thorough cleaning.
