Auto Parts: turn signal assembly VW Passat, vw passat, plastic cement

I have a 1999 VW Passat V6. Someone recently stole my passenger side turn signal and left the wiring behind. So, I bought a replacement but when we attempted to install it, we discovered that it will not stay properly connected due to a missing prong or two on the wire connector. Is it possible to buy just that plastic piece or do I have to go to the dealer and have the wiring replaced?

Can't you just use a small plastic wire-tie or two and tie those two pieces of the harness together? Maybe a drop or two of plastic cement to hold them? It is your car, but I just don't see the cost effectiveness of purchasing an expensive DEALER-ONLY item when it can probably be easilly and inexpensively repaired enough to operate correctly.
