Auto Parts: 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel, jeep grand cherokee, mercedes benz diesel

My 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel has a 3.0L V6 Mercedes-Benz diesel engine which is same as ones used in 05-07 E320 CDI! My question is: can I use same oil filter as E320 CDI on my JEEP?

Did you try to use it?
What difference does the style of oil filter make to you?

And my answer:

Using ANY periodic maintenance item that is not specifically designed for use on your vehicle WILL void the manufacturers warranty. If putting a ''Mercedes'' oil filter on your Jeep is going to make you feel special, at risk of voiding your warranty, be the man. If you think the Mercedes filters are better just because they have ''Mercedes'' stamped on the side, then you're also delusional because NO car company is going to use inferior maintenance items during a warranty period.
