Auto Parts: 1998 chevy Blazer towing, chevy blazer, 1998 chevy blazer

Question
Can I tow my AT 4WD 1998 Chevy Blazer on my tow dolly frontwards, backwards, or both?

Answer
Hi,

Technically, you should ONLY tow that vehicle with all wheels off of the ground.

Transfer case damage can occur even on short tows b/c your unit is electrically engaged/dis-engaged. If you find that for some reason you NEED to tow it a short distance, pick-up from the front with a sling so the front wheels hang in the event the transfer case engages while in motion, a wheel lift could cause serious damage to both vehicles and may even result in injury or death if the rear wheels are in motion and something goes wrong.

Lifting from the rear with a sling and allowing the front wheels to drag is NOT RECOMMENDED as this could result in immediate damage to the driveline. My advice would be to haul that vehicle with a rollback or dollies and a wheel-lift/sling so all four wheels are off of the ground.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information helps you.
