Auto Parts: transmission, small fortune, hopkinsville ky

Question
Thank you in advance for your help. My transmission would slip if I did not let the car run for a minute or so prior to driving it and after long drives (about and hour). Now has has gone out.  I would like to know the best way or place to search for (used) replacement.  I live in Hopkinsville KY.

Answer
Hey Sirchilds. It sounds like a pressure problem to me and I am certainly NO trans expert. LOL As a matter of fact I really hate them. However, I do know how they work. You can either remove and repair which will probably cost a small fortune compared to finding some guy you trust locally that will pull the old one out and turn the four bolts to put the replacement in. I'm not sure what the rules here are in regards to recommending a place to get parts but I know that I work for a national parts store that has the cheapest trans replacement purchase deal I have ever personally seen. If this is the way you choose to go simply email me personally and I can get a price for you and even tell you the closest location we have to you. We have over 4,000 locations nationally.
