Auto Parts: 1998 Chevy Venture Van, chevy venture van, 1998 chevy venture

Question
I ran out of gas and than we got gas to get it to the station and the van made it to the gas station but died when we were at the pump. We filled it up with gas and now it will not start. We have checked all fuses and everything we can think of. Do you think that I need a new fuel pump because it seems like the van is not getting gas or is there a reset that i need to know about?

Answer
Hi Kimberly,

Hmmm... well, I'm not sure how you would need a new fuel pump unless you managed to burn yours up in the lack of gas process. Do you let the van run out of gas a lot?
Furthermore, I will need more information about the process of starting the van- do you have power? does the check engine light come on? does the engine crank at all or does it crank and not turn over? or does it just click? There's so many different problems as to why a vehicle doesn't start it's imperative that I get as much information as you can give me about the condition of the start.

As far as I know there is no reset for running out of gas.

Please answer my questions and I'll hopefully be able to help you further.
