Auto Parts: engine swap, lincoln mark iv, lincoln computer

I have a 95 Mustang with a 3.8 v6 engine. I am trying to find out if I can take the high performance 302 V8 out of an 87 Lincoln MArk IV and put it in the Mustang. The tranny in the Mustang is a 5 speed manual. The Lincoln tanny is bad, so would stick with the manual tranny for the new engine.

your talking about some work here richard. the engine will fit in the car. you will have to switch the wiring harnesses and the computers. you will also have to have the lincoln computer reprogrammed or buy a new one for a manual trans. i don't know if the trans will bolt up to the v-8 or not. i also don't know if the clutch will work either. the best place to check would be a mustang site. if it can be done there will be someone there who can tell you.
