Vehicle: 2002 Buick Rendezvous

Problem: Windshield wipers won’t turn off

Description: The windshield wipers function normally when I first turn them on, but after a few minutes in the pulse mode they will go into the low setting and cannot be turned off.

If I am in the low setting after a few minutes they cannot be turned off.

If in the high setting I can turn them down to low but they will not shut off.

I literally have the switched turned to off in all cases and they are still going.

When I park the car and turn the engine off for 15 minutes or so I am able to start the car and the wipers will shut off.

Rich it sounds like the "pulse board" went out. It is the circuit board that controls the wipers. Its pretty common problem with gm vehicles. You should be able to pick one up for under thirty bucks at any parts store. Its easy to change also, only about four screws and a plug to remove.
