Auto Parts: Acura integra 87 fuel gage/speedometer, gauge cluster, acura integra

Question
I just recently bought this acura with minor damage.. The fuel gage and speedometer are not working at all.. An the lights for the speedometer and fuel panel are out as well. I was wondering about the process of getting those hooked up.. Would I be better off getting it fixed by someone? Or could I do this myself or with a few friends? How costly?

Answer
Hey Nick,
It sounds like to me that you have a bad gauge cluster. You could get one out of a junk yard or online somewhere. Before going through all that i would check the obvious. Make sure that it is plugged in and the sensors are good. The fuel sending unit is in the tank, and the speed sensor is on the transmission. The easiest and cheapest is the speed sensor. You should be able to pick one up at your local auto parts store. Good Luck and let me know how it turns out.
