Car Alarms: Toyota Corolla alarm deactivated by dealer, toyota corolla, flashing light

Question
Car Alarms: Toyota Corolla alarm deactivated by dealer, toyota corolla, flashing light
alarm
Yesterday I bought a 2013 Toyota Corolla LE. After negotiating and signing off on the deal I went back to the finance office. The finance person tried to sell me on the upgraded warranty. I declined. He told me then that the factory alarm that is in the car will be deactivated if I don't buy the extended warranty with low jack. I asked if the alarm would work and just not use the low jack. He said yes but to keep the alarm active I would have to pay $695. Needless to say I declined. As I was leaving the sales person came out to the car with a key phob and it looked like he took a small chip out or used the key under the steering wheel. The blue flashing light turned red and he said the car alarm wouldn't work now. Is there a way to turn the alarm system back on? $695 seems ridiculous. I have the factory key that works with the alarm system, I guess the alarm was just turned off. There is a small box under the steering wheel and I think he took a chip out of that and put a plastic cover over it. I attached a picture of what I think the deal was messing with.

It's BS. The key is slot coded and they now have it.
so it's no good to you at all.
It's not a very thorough system at all and
is definitely aftermarket.

I'd extract it, and have an upgraded system with
tons of nice features for 1/4 of what that thing costs.

If simply wanting to take it out entirely, see
the pic and good luck with it.
I hate car dealer finance office guys!

Have a good one.
