Car Alarms: 2007 elcipse, auto responder, valet

I bought an eclipse 3 days ago and when i unlock or lock with the aftermarket remote the head lights flash for about 5 minutes.. i have searched the net and i cant find anything on this can you please help me on how to fix this??
